Call for IBS Awards & Nominations

The International Biometric Society (IBS) is pleased to announce that nominations are being accepted for three of the Society’s most revered awards: Honorary Life MembershipThe Rob Kempton Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Development of Biometry in the Developing World, and The Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Development of the IBS.  Nominations will be accepted through 21 February 2020. Award recipients will be honored during IBC2020 in Seoul, Korea. Honorary Life Membership
The IBS has bestowed the award of Honorary Life Member since 1964. In addition to the honor, recipients receive all the rights and privileges of a Regular Member for life.
Representative Council members, Executive Board members, and Regional/Network Presidents may submit nominations of regular members. Each nominee must be sponsored by five (5) or more members, including at least two from outside the candidate’s Region. A statement of support of the nomination should be submitted by each sponsor.
Rob Kempton Award for Outstanding Contributions to the Development of Biometry in the Developing World
Aim: To honor the contributions of IBS members to the development of biometry in the developing world.
Prize: Recognition Award and complimentary IBS membership for the next calendar year (which may be donated to a member of an economically developing nation).
Eligibility: Any IBS member who has made or is making significant contributions to the development of biometry in the developing world is eligible to be nominated.
Award for Outstanding Contributions to the Development of the International Biometric Society
Aim: To honor the contributions of IBS members to the development of the society, and to promote the participation of members in the development of the society.
Eligibility: Any IBS member who has made or is making a significant contribution to the development of the IBS is eligible to be nominated. Current members of Representative Councile and Executive Board may not be eligible for nomination.
Prize: Recognition award and complimentary IBS membership for the next calendar year.
