Hello to all IBS members. As a reminder, registration is now open for the 29th International Biometric Conference. We are excited about the many events being planned in Barcelona. We encourage you to attend, and experience the IBC for yourself! The meetings are shaping up to be excellent. Barcelona is a beautiful city, and we are confident that attendees will have a great time.

Barcelona and the Catalan region have of course been in the news lately because of the recent independence referendum. There have been some large demonstrations, but these have been peaceful and there are no safety concerns, especially for tourists. Life goes on as usual in Barcelona, and everything points to a highly successful and enjoyable IBC.

The Local Organising Committee is arranging some great tours of the city and environs, including Barcelona historical part, Gaudí tour and Monastery of Montserrat. For more information, visit the IBC Excursions page.

Registration details and more can be found at http://2018.biometricconference.org/. And be sure to follow the IBC conversation at https://twitter.com/IBSstats. Tag us! #IBC2018BCN

Sincerely,
IBS Staff
