HONORARY LIFE MEMBERSHIP

 

The International Biometric Society has honored deserving individuals with the award of Honorary Life Member since 1964. In addition to the honor, recipients receive all the rights and privileges of a Regular Member.

Representative Council members, Executive Board members, and Regional Presidents may submit nominations of Regular members by 16 March, 2018. Each nominee must be sponsored by five or more Members, including at least two from outside the candidate’s Region.  A statement of support of the nomination should be submitted by the sponsors.

By 30 March, the Representative Council will be informed of all valid nominations received. Current Representative Council Members and Executive Board Members are ineligible for nomination. An election will be conducted of the the Representative Council, during which each Council member may support any number of candidates but no candidate shall be elected to Honorary Life Membership unless supported by the majority of Representative Council.

No more than four individuals may be honored during every even-numbered year. The announcement of the newly elected Honorary Life Member (s) shall be made by the IBS President at the International Biometric Conference in Barcelona.

  1. The deadline for nominations is 16 March, 2018.

 

  1. Please send all nominations, in electronic format, to Representative Council Chair Iris Pigeot.

 

  1. Each nomination must be supported by five or more members. Two of the supporting members must be outside of the candidate’s Region.

 

  1. A Statement of Support should be submitted by the sponsors.

 

  1. Current Representative Council members and Executive Board members are ineligible.

 

  1. Submissions must be in editable text so that they can be included in a ballot.

 

  1. We ask that individuals not submit their nominations until the nomination materials are considered complete.
