The Central European Network

About the Network

Established in 2008, the Central European Network’s main purpose is the scientific exchange of information and the strengthening of biometry in Central Europe and around the Alps.  The initial members of the Network include the Austrian Swiss Region, The German Region and the Polish Region.   Joint conferences are held in turn in each region every 3 or 4 years.  The Network is open to including additional regions from Central Europe.

Governance / Committee Structure

The lead Region for the next conference typically manages Network-related pre-conference activities. Registration and all other conference planning is managed by the host Region, in coordination with other Regions within the Network.

Past / Future Planned Network Activities

CEN2026 Conference: The 6th Conference of the Central European Network (CEN) will take place from 18-21 May, 2026, in Warsaw, Poland. It is a joint conference of the Austro-Swiss Region, German and Polish Regions of the International Biometric Society (IBS). Please visit their website for more details: https://cen2026.org/

Student / Young Statistician Activities

Young statisticians are welcome at every Central European Network event. No specific activities targeting young statisticians have been announced at this time.
