Hello to our LMIC members!
As we are nearing the final week to submit abstracts for an IBC 2026 session, I wanted to specifically remind those LMIC members intending to apply for a travel award that you must have submitted an abstract during the open abstract submission period in order to qualify.
For those LMIC members who are eligible and who are selected by the committee, up to $3,000 USD may be granted, which may be used towards the coverage of travel, lodging and/or registration expenses to attend the 2026 International Biometric Conference, which will be held next July in Seoul, South Korea. The deadline to submit an abstract is 3 November, 2025.
Note that the travel award application process is not yet open. We simply wanted to make sure that you were aware of the abstract submission requirement. You may submit an abstract free of charge by visiting https://ibc2026.abstractcentral.com/login.
Best wishes and good luck!
Peter

P.S. - Note that this is a competitive application process and not all members will receive funding. Applicants must also be IBS members at the time of application and for at least 12 months prior to the date of application, and must be residing in a Lower-or-Middle Income Country (LMIC) at the time of the application (as defined by the World Bank). A list is on the World Bank website (see: https://data.worldbank.org/income-level/low-and-middle-income). Previous Travel Fund award winners may apply if their previous award was not made in the previous four years. Travel funding will only be awarded to those who have been chosen to present at the IBC. We are currently accepting donations to the Travel Awards Fund here: https://www.biometricsociety.org/community/donate
