Invitation to Apply: ISI Young Ambassadors for the 33rd International Biometric Conference | ISI

The International Statistical Institute invites applications from young members of both the ISI and International Biometric Society for the opportunity to participate as an ISI Young Ambassador at the 33rd International Biometric Conference (IBC2026), to be held in Seoul, South Korea, from 12 – 16 July 2026.

This initiative, jointly organized by ISI and International Biometric Society (IBS), aims to promote collaboration among young statisticians and biometricians worldwide. At least one recipient will be selected from . Selected ISI Young Ambassadors will present their work at IBC2026, represent the ISI, and help foster connections between young members of ISI and IBS.

ISI Young Ambassadors may also be invited to support ISI campaigns and ambassadorial activities during the following year.

Eligibility and Selection Criteria

Applicants will be evaluated based on:

  • Scholarly contributions: A submitted published journal article, extended abstract (minimum 5 pages, including figures, tables and references), or a major report from the last three years.
  • Motivation and engagement: Personal motivation and evidence of high interest and active participation in ISI and IBS initiatives.
  • Recent qualification: Applicants who obtained their most recent statistics degree (PhD or equivalent) within the last ten years (after 1 January 2016).
  • Preference: Candidates who have not previously received a Young Ambassadors award.

Prize

The ISI Young Ambassador prize includes:

  • Registration for IBC2026
  • Roundtrip economy airfare to Seoul, South Korea
  • An allowance covering up to six nights of reasonable accommodation

  • Call Launch: 29 January 2026
  • Submission Deadline: 31 March 2026
  • Notification of Selection: 30 April 2026
  • Deadline for Final Paper Submission: 15 May 2026
  • IBC2026 Conference: 12–16 July 2026

  • Curriculum vitae (CV)
  • A brief statement describing how the applicant will help promote interaction between young statisticians from ISI and IBS
