IBC2016 – Victoria, BC, Canada – Registration is open!

Registration is now open for IBC2016. Members and non-members may register at www.biometricconference.org or www.biometricsociety.org. Please notify your membership that registration is open. The early bird deadline is 15 April 2016. You save money if you register before that date.

The 2016 Call for Contributed Papers has been extended to 24 January 2016! Please publicize and distribute to your Region’s members: http://biometricconference.org/call-for-contributed-sessions/.

The YSS Competition is open. This competition provides for one young statistician/student from each of the five continental areas of the world (South America, Africa, Asia, North America, Europe) to participate in the showcase at the IBC. Winners receive $3000 USD to help defray conference costs. If you held a student paper competition in your Region, please encourage those student winners to enter the IBS competition. IBC Travel Awards are available!
The Awards Fund Committee is accepting applications for travel assistance to the IBC2016. These funds are restricted to members from the developing world. Applications should be submitted at www.biometricsociety.org/.

Awards and Honors of the Society

Regions should make every effort to nominate one of its members for an award or honor of the Society. IBS has three awards/honors to consider:
*Honorary Life Membership
*Rob Kempton Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Development of Biometry in the Developing World
*Outstanding Contributions to the Development of the IBS

Please nominate someone from your Region! The deadline for all awards/honors is
29 February 2016.

2016 Membership Dues

As a reminder, international membership dues are due at the beginning of each calendar year. The IBS dues cycle runs from 1 January – 31 December. 2016 dues invoices and rosters have been sent to all Regions. Please note that 2016 dues have not changed: $60 Regular Members/$14 Developing Country Members. Contact Mik Bauer at the IBO if you need assistance with processing dues: ibs@biometricsociety.org

Update Regional Officers

Don’t forget to notify the IBO if there has been a change in Regional Officers. Officers from the Regions are published on the IBS website (http://www.biometricsociety.org/ibs-regional-officers/) as well as maintained in our member database. These updates will allow us to communicate effectively with all the Regions about upcoming Society events and new programs. Please send updates to ibs@biometricsociety.org.
