The International Prize in Statistics, offered by the International Prize in Statistics Foundation, was launched by five leading international statistics organizations, including the International Biometric Society. A primary objective of the prize is to call public attention to the important role statistics, data analysis, probability, and the understanding of uncertainty have played in the past and are playing today. The highest honor in its field, the International Prize in Statistics will be bestowed every other year to an individual or team for major achievements using statistics to advance science, technology and human welfare.
